RX Skin Prescriptions-Turn Back the Clock!

Despite all the hype about exfoliating our skin, I see the highest amount of red, irritated, and dry skin on my clients and patients who listen to all the advertisements about the importance of exfoliating. This is because physical exfoliators, such as scrubs and rotary brushes, are too abrasive and damaging. A wise alternative is to use topical retinoids in conjunction with Microdermabrasion treatments. Doing so dissolves the bonds between dead cells, changes the skin's porosity, and allows the moisturizers to be delivered, stimulating one's body to produce collagen while boosting overall radiance.
More intense treatments -- including light chemical peels -- can remove age spots and also amp up collagen production. These kinds of treatments, along with the use of powerful peptides, go a long way toward repairing the skin's responsiveness.
Over-scrubbing, as well as over-moisturizing, only serves to either (1) make your skin's ph produce more oil, or (2) strip away at your skin, making it feel dry and patchy as a result of trying to overcompensate with too much moisturizer. Key to remember is the fact that skin requires a daily routine, and moderation is central to any such routine. Gentle cleansing, along with the use of a retinoid product, exfoliates your cells, which benefit from the follow-up of a light moisturizer for the evening. When it comes to daytiime routines, the most effective one is a peptide, such as our own luminous peptide, containing CQ10 and Hyaluronic Acid packed with vitamins, followed by a SPF 30, at which point you’re ready to go.
